JUST WHEN YOU THOUGHT YOU COULDN’T HATE THE REDSKINS ANY MORE THAN YOU DO..

I invite all of you to read a piece in wednesday’s Washington Post. It’s
in the Style section, and it’s about a Redskins cheerleader and her
husband, who is a Marine Officer serving in Afghanistan. When Lt Denver
Eddick learned he was coming home sooner than expected, he contacted
WJLA, the ABC affiliate in Washington, thinking it would be great to
have a TV crew there when he surprised his wife, Kristin while she was
at cheerleader practice.
The Redskins have a contract with WRC, the NBC affiliate, and they gave
them the story. Handed it to them. Meanwhile, they also banned WJLA’s
crew from covering the event. Wait, there’s more. A Redskins official
also told WJLA that Kristin would be fired if she talked to that station.
The Post got ahold of the story, and suddenly there’s a giant change of
heart. Owner Daniel Snyder says he’s “embarrassed” and “very sorry”, and
even predicted that personnel changes could be made as a result.
Bottom line: just another example of a once-proud franchise that
regularly embarrasses itself.
As I’ve said before, just when you think the Redskins can’t go any
lower, they seem to say “got a shovel”?
