Replacing Old Bathroom Appliances Can Save Money
BALTIMORE (WJZ) ― Saving money around the house means heading right for the bathroom.
Mary Bubala reports you can reduce the amount of hot water used by installing a low-flow showerhead and faucet aerators.
Older showerheads deliver four to five gallons of water a minute. A new two and a half gallon per minute showerhead will reduce your water consumption by one-third to one-half.
For bathroom faucets, install aerators that deliver one-half to one gallon per minute. Some come with shut off valves that allow you to stop the flow of water without affecting the temperature.
