Md. Doctor's License Permanently Revoked
ELKTON, Md. (AP) -- The Maryland Board of Physicians has permanently revoked the license of an obstetrician who worked for an abortion clinic where patients were ferried from New Jersey.
Eighty-eight-year-old Dr. George Shepard Jr. of Lewes, Del., worked for Dr. Steven Brigham's clinic in Elkton. Shepard's license was permanently revoked on Nov. 18. It had been suspended in August.
Authorities say Brigham started late-term abortions with medication in Voorhees, N.J., and finished them in Elkton, where state law is more permissive. Shepard ordered medications for the facility.
