MCHENRY, Md. (AP) — Maryland’s only ski resort is preparing to open its doors.
Wisp Resort says the Deep Creek Lake region received several inches of snow Thursday and Friday, combined with plummeting temperatures that allowed for three straight days of snowmaking.
Wisp will open a beginner trail on Saturday and Sunday, with reduced-price lift tickets of $10 for adults and kids.
The grand opening is set for Thursday, and more terrain is expected to be open by then. Wisp celebrates its 55th anniversary this year and will provide several discounts next weekend, including $7 lift tickets on Dec. 12 and 13.
