Jenna Bush Hager's Baltimore Home On The Market

BALTIMORE (AP) -- For sale: three-bedroom, 21/2-bath townhouse for a former first daughter, with a rooftop terrace and marble bath.

Jenna Bush Hager's Baltimore home went on the market this week for $474,900.

The celebrity surrounding the renovated 1880s corner house at 1345 Charles St. has generated 20,000 page views of the listing on realtor.com, said Will Runnebaum, owner of the Baltimore-based Marcus-Boyd Realty, which is listing the home.

Runnebaum said he does not disclose the names of owners or why a home is being sold, but acknowledged the home on Charles Street has drawn a great deal of interest.

The address is well known as the home of former President George W. Bush's daughter and her husband Henry Hager, who moved in following their 2008 marriage. Hager works for Baltimore-based Constellation Energy.

"We can't discuss ownership, or you know, what sellers, what their plans are or where they're going or any of those things," Runnebaum said.

The realtor said the listing prompted discussion in the office "to figure out some unique things we could put in the remarks," but they eventually decided to keep everything very generic.

Aside from celebrity, the house has selling points of its own, Runnebaum said.

The former storefront is an end-of-group corner building with large windows along three sides, hardwood floors, large windows, and nearly 12-foot ceilings because of its original use as a commercial space that needed lots of room for shelving, the realtor said.

"You really are taken by how grand the entrance is," Runnebaum said.

There is a private garage. A two-level rooftop terrace goes off the master bedroom, which also has a spa bath with carrera marble and a television. The stairs have custom carpets made from natural sea grass.

"It's a really, really nice carpet, very pretty to look at with natural tones," Runnebaum said.

The home has occasionally made news since Bush and Hager moved in.

Two bicycles were stolen from the home earlier this year, and last year a van attached to a security detail was towed after it accumulated six unpaid tickets.

David Sherzer, communications director for the former president, declined to comment on why the home was being sold.
