Ram Unsung Hero: Patrick Of Churchville, Md.

CBS Radio and Ram are saluting America's Unsung Heroes. This week, we salute Patrick of Churchville, MD.  Patric serves in the Air Force and was nominated by his father Clarence.

"Where do I start to talk about my son Patrick?  when he wasy young his room was blue with Air Force items all around.  I could see that by his actions he was headed for the military.  He joined the United States Air Force.  I liked to say he followed my career as a police officer entering into the Security Forces as the Air Force calls their police.  He graduated from boot camp at the top of his class and received the Air Education Award.  From there he shipped to Osan, South Korea.  He was there for his first year.  Patrick told stories of lying along the flight line on mid night shift in the dead of winter protecting the base.  He received numerious awards for actions taken while there.  His next assignement was in the desert.  He was assigned base security at Qatar.  He also flew many security missions into combat areas guarding the air planes.  At present he is a member of the Air National Guard stationed at Martin State Air Port in Baltimore County, MD.  He is still in Security Forces and is deploying again somewhere in Afghanistan.

I just wanted to say how proud that his mother, sister and I are of him for standing up to defend the United States.  He didn't have to do this job but like many others he took on the task.  I just wanted to give Patrick a little recognition.  God Bless Patrick and God Bless the United States of America."

Patrick, thank you for your service.
