Temporary Casino Would Be On Garage Ground Floor

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — A developer says a temporary casino with 2,000 slot machines and a limited-menu bar would be built on the ground floor of a parking garage next to a shopping mall.

Cordish Cos. President Joe Weinberg says it would open the first phase of its casino in the last quarter of 2011. Weinberg unveiled the plan Monday for the state Video Lottery Facility Location Commission.

Weinberg says the full entertainment complex next to Arundel Mills Mall will open about a year later.
