Md. High School Students Ill After Eating Brownies
OXON HILL, Md. (AP) -- A Prince George's County fire spokesman says about a half dozen high school students became ill after eating brownies, which police are now testing.
Fire spokesman Mark Brady said food poisoning is not suspected, adding the students' conditions were not serious but six were taken to a local hospital. Brady said the students reported experiencing rapid heart rates and feeling uneasy and sick after eating the brownies.
Brady said paramedics were called to Potomac High School in Oxon Hill shortly before 11 a.m. Thursday for what was at first thought to be allergic reactions. Brady says samples of the brownies were collected and given to police and the hospital for testing to determine what made the students sick.
