Triple Teen Shooting In West Baltimore

BALTIMORE (WJZ)— Three teenagers were shot in West Baltimore. Among the injured is a 14-year-old boy who was shot in the head.

Andrea Fujii reports three teenagers were shot in a West Baltimore neighborhood. One of them is in critical condition.

City police say the shooting took place around 7:30 p.m. Thursday night on the 1000-block of Ashburton Street.

All three victims are males, ages 14, 15 and 17.

"One was shot in the head. He's in critical condition in shock trauma," said Det. Donnie Moses, Baltimore City Police. "Another one was shot in the wrist and the leg. The third male was shot in the buttocks."

Detectives searched the area for evidence. They recovered shell casings and say that the weapon used was a semi automatic handgun.

So far police do not have a suspect in this case or a motive.

"I can tell you it's at least one shooter. And they were outside in the block. All three victims made it into a house before they collapsed," Moses said.

The shooting broke the quiet of the neighborhood that occurred barely a day before Christmas. Police are dedicating resources to find the person responsible.

"Homicide detectives are working this incident vigorously as we speak," Moses said. "We hope to have more for you; we hope to have a suspect soon."

Two of the teens were taken to area hospitals. The teen who was shot in the head was taken to shock trauma. The names of the victims or updated conditions have not been released.

Witnesses have been take downtown to city headquarters.
