Frederick Co. NAACP President Starts 4th Term

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- The president of the Frederick chapter of the NAACP, starting his fourth two-year-term, says he will focus on civil rights violations outside the city of Frederick, but in the county.

Guy Djoken was sworn in Wednesday by 97-year-old past president Lord Nickens.

Djoken says he will also reach out to church leaders.

He says minorities in Frederick County have trouble finding affordable housing, and minorities are incarcerated at a disproportionately high rate.
