Oakland Police Chief Retires After 27 Years

OAKLAND, Md. (AP) -- Oakland's chief of police for 27 years, John K. Sines, has retired.

Sines has been with the police department since 1983 and was appointed chief the next year. He oversaw a staff of three.

Lt. Randy Wright will act as chief until the position is filled.
