Police are investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision in Stevensville. 

It happened Dec. 21, at approximately 6:15 p.m. on Route 50 at Cox Neck Road in Queen Anne’s County.

The crash resulted in one person sustaining fatal injuries.

Information developed during the investigation indicates that 44-year-old David Naida was walking along eastbound Route 50. Jerry Johnson, 53, was operating a 2003 Chevy Silverado, traveling eastbound on Route 50 in the area of Cox Neck Road. Early investigation indicates Mr. Naida was attempting to cross eastbound Route 50 from the center median. As Mr. Naida stepped into the left lane, he was struck by the Silverado.

Mr. Naida was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation. No other information is currently available for public disclosure at this time.
