WASHINGTON (AP) — Metro is extending its hours over the New Year’s holiday.

Metrorail stations will be open on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day from 7 a.m. to 3 a.m. The trains will be operating on a Sunday schedule each day. Metro says New Year’s Day ridership is traditionally light.

Metrobuses also will be operating on a Sunday schedule.
