Pink Limousine Is A Car With A Cause

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- If you're looking for a ride for New Year's, you can think pink.  There's a new limousine in Baltimore and if you rent it, you can help others at the same time.

Ron Matz reports a car with a cause has everyone talking.

It's Maryland's first pink limousine.

Joanna Fridinger is the Limo Lady.  Her new ride is the talk of the town.

Fridinger's sister Janice died of cancer a year ago. The limo is a tribute to her.

"I was very close with my sister. I wanted to do something in tribute to my sister. I found a used Lincoln stretch, and tried to find someone who would paint it and find the perfect pink color," said Fridinger.

The limo will benefit St. Joseph Medical Center.

"One of my clients has a lot to do with the Cancer Institute at St. Joseph Medical Center.  It was the hospital where my sister was treated, the hospital where my daughters were born.  This is my little tribute to my sister, so a portion of the proceeds of the rental of this vehicle will go over to the Cancer Institute at St. Joe," said Fridinger.

The Lincoln stretch is 29 feet long. It holds eight to 10 people and has all the bells and whistles.

"I already have weddings booked for it for this coming spring.  I've got one prom booked already. Once they find out that a portion of the proceeds are going to something good, they say, 'Let's go with that,'" said Fridinger. "It makes people happy when they see it.  It's obviously an attention getter because of the color. It's the only one in Maryland that I know of. People  look at me when I'm driving. They wave, pull out their camera phones. They take pictures and they smile. If you can make somebody happy and the money is going toward something good, what more can you ask for?  I think my sister would give me a thumbs up on this."
