Police Identify Man Killed In Rosedale Shooting

ROSEDALE, Md. (WJZ) -- There's new information about a shooting that left a man dead at a Rosedale apartment complex.

It happened Wednesday morning in the 5200-block of Daybrook Circle.

Baltimore County Police say the man who died, Willie Millings, 33, was a suspect --not a victim -- in a violent confrontation.

The two men who lived in the apartment, Leroy Austin, 22, and James Evans, 25, were both injured.

Police were called to the residence for shots fired and when they arrived found Millings deceased from gunshot wounds. They also found Austin suffering from life threatening gunshot wounds. He was transported to Shock Trauma in serious condition. In a search outside the building, police found Evans suffering from a broken ankle. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment and released.

Investigators believe that a confrontation began involving Evans, Austin, Millings, and another unidentified suspect who fled the scene. During the confrontation, handguns were produced and shots were fired striking Austin and Millings. Evans jumped out of a window, which caused him to break his ankle.

It is unknown whether the second suspect was wounded by any gunfire. Detectives are continuing their investigation, but are not releasing any further information at this time.

Police say the incident was a targeted single event. No arrests have been made and the motive has not yet been established.

Anyone with information about the identity of the second suspect is asked to call Baltimore County Police at 410-307-2020 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7-LOCKUP (1-866-756-2587). To text a message to Metro Crime Stoppers, send to "CRIMES" (274637), then enter the message starting with "MCS," or e-mail a tip to www.metrocrimestoppers.org. Those contacting Metro Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and might be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000.
