BALTIMORE (AP) — Baltimore is getting a new top prosecutor.

Gregg Bernstein will be sworn in Monday as the city’s state’s attorney.

Bernstein won a hard-fought Democratic primary over longtime incumbent Patricia Jessamy, blaming her for failing to secure long prison terms for repeat violent offenders. The defense attorney and former federal prosecutor also pledged to build a better relationship with police.

Bernstein raised three times as much money as Jessamy. He was unopposed in the general election.

Good Riddance to Patricia Jessamy. I feel that this woman acted as a racist activits prosecutor who really did not have the desire to harshly prosecute her fellow blacks who commit violent atrocities against the citizens and visitors to Baltimore City.
