FORT WASHINGTON, Md. (WJZ) — The owner of the Baltimore Orioles isn’t giving up on his quest to bring slots to Prince George’s County.

According to WJZ’s media partner, the Baltimore Sun, Peter Angelos is offering to pay at least $14 million to take over the now bankrupt Rosecroft Raceway and bring slots there.

A bankruptcy court would have to approve the deal, as would voters, to amend the state’s constitution.

Angelos backed out of the deal in 2005 when slots weren’t approved.

Keep kicking me out ’cause you know what I wrote is true! He owes his clients a lot of money ftrom their asbestosis claims and they will never see it.

This would be good for Rosecroft and the people that it will employ. It will generate tax revenue for the state and help the local economy. What is the downside? Job creation? Tax revenue? Local businesses around the track will get a big boost? Maryland horse racing will get s needed shot in the arm?

    No downside.
