Police: Woman Assaulted Again In Apartment

GERMANTOWN, Md. (AP) -- A 68-year-old woman who was raped in her apartment in June says the same man sexually assaulted her again Wednesday morning.

Police say the suspect also might be responsible for raping an 86-year-old woman in a senior facility in August.

The latest attack occurred about 1 a.m. at the woman's Beaconfield Terrace apartment. The woman told Montgomery County police that she was in her bed when the same man she says raped her on June 19 assaulted her again.

On Aug. 21, another woman reported being raped in her home at the Churchill Senior Living Center, which is across the street from the other victim's apartment. Police said the man entered through an unlocked window and she was injured in the attack.

Police spokeswoman Lucille Baur said Wednesday that the same man committed the rapes in June and August. She said it is too early in the investigation of the most recent crime to confirm that the same man is responsible.

Police released a sketch of the suspect. He is described as black, 5 '10", 145 pounds and is about 16 to 25 years old.

Police said Crime Solvers of Montgomery County has offered a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest.
