Teen Charged After Shots Are Fired At People

SALISBURY, Md. (AP) -- Salisbury Police say a 16-year-old has been charged with attempted murder after shots were fired at a group of people outside a home.

The youth, an honor roll student, is being held without bond, although his mother asked the judge to release him so he could continue going to school.

Police say about 7:40 p.m. Tuesday, the youth approached a group of people on the porch of a house and tried to start an argument with one of them. The group went inside, then back out.

According to charging documents, the youth got out of a vehicle, reached into the rear passenger seat, turned to face the group and fired seven to nine rounds.

No one was hurt.
