Ravens Fans Are Pumped For The Playoffs

BALTIMORE (WJZ)--There's purple everywhere you look. The excitement is building! The purple birds take on the Chiefs in their quest for the championship. All across Baltimore and Maryland fans are pumped up!

Weijia Jiang has more on the fan excitement.

The road to the playoff game gets shorter by the day.

"Even though they're not playing here, we're behind them 100 percent," said one Ravens fan.

Fans are in a frenzy to get ready, packing into stores like Poor Boys in Dundalk to buy anything and everything purple.

"We've been going through so much stuff, new stuff everyday because everybody's buying it up right now," said Tim Swiger of Poor Boys.

Lorraine Hughes says she's buying "a Ravens Snuggie, t-shirt and some tattoos."

"I pretty much have everything, but you always want to look for more," said Mike Hallet.

"I'm a substitute teacher, and we all wear the Ravens jerseys and everything," said Kayla Streets.

Some of the hottest items this playoff season: lights, car flags, napkins, coasters, and purple sweets.

Restaurants like Bill Bateman's are swamped too, tripling the staff for Sunday. They expect to sell thousands of wings.

"We'll probably do about 30, 40 cases just in carry outs--a lot of wings," said Bill Bateman. "We don't know what we're gonna do with all the bodies."

The gear and the food is one thing, spirit is another.

At M&T Bank Stadium downtown, dozens packed into a rally to see former Ravens kicker Matt Stover, who has a team Super Bowl ring from 2000.

Fans are ready for a repeat.

"No, no doubts," said one fan. "I don't think there are doubts in here!"

You can see the Ravens begin their march to the Super Bowl exclusively on WJZ-TV. The Ravens take on the Chiefs on Sunday at 1 p.m.
