POINT OF ROCKS, Md. (AP) — Teams searching for a missing Texas man say they have found a body in the Potomac River near Point of Rocks, close to where his belongings were recovered last week.

Carroll Manor Fire Company Deputy Chief Andy Arnold told The Frederick News-Post that the body was found early Friday afternoon.

Fire and rescue workers and the Maryland Natural Resources Police have been searching for Robert White, 55, of El Paso, Texas.

Authorities say White’s clothing, cell phone and passport were found by the river Dec. 29 near a car registered to his mother. He was reported missing Dec. 26 from Prince William County, Va.
