Morgan State Defeats Howard 75-62

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Kevin Thompson had his seventh double-double of the season with 15 points and 15 rebounds to lead Morgan State over Howard 75-62 on Saturday.

The Bears (6-7, 2-0 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) had four players in double figures as Aric Brooks had 17 points, Justin Jackson 11 and Ameer Ali 10. Jackson was 10 of 10 from the free-throw line.

Morgan State shot 40.9 percent from the field (25 of 61) in its eighth straight win against Howard, and 10th in the last 11 meetings. The Bears led by as many as 19 in the first half and 47-33 at halftime. Morgan State outscored the Bison 28-6 in the paint.

Mike Phillips led Howard (2-13, 0-2) with 25 points and 10 rebounds. Dadrian Collins chipped in 14 points and Kyle Riley had 12 for the Bison, who lost their fourth in a row.

The Bison were just 4 of 12 from 3-point range (33.3 percent).
