Md. Man Sentenced In Murder-For-Hire Plot
HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- A Washington County Circuit judge has sentenced a Hagerstown man to 30 years in prison for trying to hire a fellow inmate to kill his estranged wife.
James Keiser Jr. was sentenced on Tuesday. He was convicted in October of solicitation to commit murder.
A county detention center inmate testified that Keiser offered him $15,000 in 2009 to kill his wife.
Keiser told the judge Tuesday that he was about to sentence an innocent man. Keiser's lawyer said the conviction would be appealed.
