Vegas Dance Community Remembers Slain Performer

LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Debora Flores Narvaez is being remembered as driven and determined to succeed in the competitive but tightly-knit community of Las Vegas Strip dance performers.

About 100 friends, family members and dance troupers turned out Friday at the very stage at the Luxor hotel-casino where Flores Narvaez last performed to mourn the slaying of the woman they called Debbie.

"Fantasy" burlesque show producer Anita Mann recalled Flores Narvaez as a perfectionist, eager to make her mark in the Las Vegas entertainment world.

Flores Narvaez's sister promised to seek justice from her killer.

Flores Narvaez's body was found last week -- sawed in pieces and encased in concrete -- in two plastic bins at a Las Vegas home.

Her former boyfriend has been charged with strangling and dismembering her.
