Frederick, Md., Groups Plan MLK Dinner
FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- Some community groups in Frederick are inviting government, business and spiritual leaders to a dinner in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.
Leaders of HandsOn Frederick County say organizers of the event Sunday at the downtown Cafe Nola include the local United Way and NAACP chapters and the UNESCO Center for Peace.
Participants will discuss strategies for solving local social issues.
It's part of an effort to mobilize hundreds of county residents to serve their communities.
