Ravens Tab Chuck Pagano As Defensive Coordinator

OWINGS MILLS, Md. (AP) — The Baltimore Ravens have promoted secondary coach Chuck Pagano to defensive coordinator, replacing Greg Mattison.

Ravens cornerback Fabian Washington says the move was “way past overdue” and that Pagano should have long been an NFL defensive coordinator.

Pagano has a reputation as an aggressive defensive coach.

Baltimore cornerback Josh Wilson says that the Ravens know Pagano can handle the job. He says it’s “going to be like nothing ever changed.”

Pagano was a defensive coordinator in 2007 at the University of North Carolina. He has previous NFL stints as a secondary coach with the Oakland Raiders and the Cleveland Browns.

Mattison was hired Tuesday night to be Michigan’s defensive coordinator under new coach Brady Hoke.

Mattison did what all of Baltimore wanted, he read the tea leaves & they looked bitter.
He’s better suited for the college level.

One coordinator down, one to go.

haha thts good just need to get rid of cam cameron he dosnt know how to win h dosnt waant to shove the score down the other teams throughts thats y we lost to the squeelers

  3. Deb says:

Now Harbaugh needs to get rid of Cam Cameron. It is obvious that the Ravens are not positioned to play all 4 quarters without falling on their face. The lose with the Steelers twice has shown the fans that fact. The Raven team should have beat the Steelers and move on into the playoffs. The fans are getting sick of having high-hopes only to see then wither away because of stupid playing calling and strategy

    1. watchthenews says:

Unfortunately, it appears you missed the news on Monday that Cameron was staying on. Another season of predictable Ravens “offense” to come. Joy…

      1. TERON says:

        LOOKS LIKE TRAINING DRILLS
RUNNING THE SAME PLAY OVER AND OVER AGAIN
        DUMP DOWN TO RICE

    2. TERON says:

TOO MUCH EMPHASIS ON NOT MAKING MISTAKES AND NOT ENOUGH ON MOVING THE BALL DOWNFIELD. WE PLAY AS IF THE GAME HAS 5 QTRS SOMETIMES

  4. Sonny Walker says:

As soon as I saw the 3 man rush on 3rd and 19 I knew the game was lost!
I didn’t work all year. You would think the defensive coordinator would know this.
    Maybe this one will.

  5. Gene from Aberdeen says:

I concur! 1 down 1 to go! We led in all 5 games we lost and lost them the same way. Putti9ng on pressure and then dropping back i9nto coverage on 3rd down. That’s all the opportunity a pro QB needs and our record shows it. On offense, looking at our roster, we obviously had more weapons than our Offensive Coordinator knew what to do with. This team could’ve been undefeted but they won’t all be back next year.

  6. bravin4evr says:

Biscotti, please tell Harbs to get rid of Cameron or you will get rid of him and Cameron! That offense is hard on your Ravens fans blood pressure and hearts! After almost every game the Emergency Depts. are full! 5 times this year, it was hard to speak the day after a game from yelling and cussing the tv and coaches out!

  7. EL says:

Ugh…wrong side of the ball. I thought Mattison did a pretty decent job this year. It’s CamCam who needs to go. He sucked in Miami, he sucked in San Diego, and he’s sucked in Baltimore. We’re going to go through another 10-6, 11-5, or 12-4 season because we don’t have a top line O and face it; the D isn’t getting any younger. If we somehow lose Ngata, we’re done. If we somehow sign Asomugha, maybe, just maybe, we can win the division. But in the meantime, who’s up for some O’s baseball?
