Author Nora Roberts has traveled all over the world, but she still calls Maryland home.
BOONSBORO, Md. (AP) — A charitable foundation established by best-selling author Nora Roberts is giving $13,000 to the music and drama programs at Boonsboro High School near her western Maryland home.
The Washington County school board voted Tuesday to accept the gift. Eight thousand dollars is earmarked for musical instruments and equipment, and $5,000 for the drama department.
Drama teacher Michael Bair says his department gets no funding from the school board. He says the gift could enable him to mount a more elaborate production this school year
The foundation also awards an annual literary scholarship to a Boonsboro High School senior.
