Package Causes False Alarm At Naval Academy

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- The U.S. Naval Academy evacuated four buildings due to a suspicious package, but it turned out to be a false alarm.

Naval Academy spokeswoman Deborah Goode said Thursday that a suspicious package was reported outside the school's Gate 3 about 1:30 p.m.

The Annapolis Police Department and Naval Academy personnel responded. Goode says the package was determined not to be athreat. Goode says people returned to the buildings about 3:30 p.m.
