Sen. Nancy Jacobs Named Senate Republican Leader
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Maryland Senate Republicans have elected Sen. Nancy Jacobs as minority leader.
Senate Republicans choose Jacobs on Friday to replace Sen. Allan Kittleman, who stepped down from the post earlier this week.
Jacobs, who has been a state senator since 1999, represents Cecil and Harford counties. She says she'll be focusing on battling any proposals to increase taxes.
Republicans also chose Upper Shore Republican Sen. E.J. Pipkin to be minority whip.
