Coppin State Defeats Delaware State 65-63

DOVER, Del. (AP) -- Antonio Williams had 15 rebounds and 12 points as Coppin State defeated Delaware State 65-63 in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference action on Monday night. 

The Eagles (9-9, 4-2) trailed 28-19 at halftime after a 6-of-24 shooting effort (25 percent) in the opening half. But Coppin State shot 18 for 28 in the second half (64.3 percent), including 50 percent from 3-point range (5 of 10) to pull ahead. 

Coppin State dominated inside, posting a 42-25 rebounding advantage and a 30-18 edge on points in the paint. 

Desi Washington scored 19 points, Casey Walker added 13 and Marques Oliver 11 for the Hornets. Jay Threatt added nine points and eight assists. 

Akeem Ellis scored 15, Jordan Lee added 11 and Vince Goldsberry 10 for the Eagles, who got at least one point from nine of the 10 players who entered the game.
