Northbound JFX Commuters To Be Detoured

BALTIMORE (WJZ)--Drivers traveling northbound on the Jones Falls Expressway will soon be detoured.

As a result of major delays along the Baltimore Beltway/I-695, traffic on northbound Jones Falls Expressway is at a standstill.

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation has closed the northbound JFX at President Street.

Motorists who are currently on the northbound JFX south of Cold Spring Lane will be detoured onto the Cold Spring Lane exit. Commuters that are on the expressway north of Cold Spring Lane will be detoured onto the southbound JFX via the center median near Ruxton Road.

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation encourages those detoured southbound on the JFX to use westbound Northern Parkway as an alternate route.

Several power outages have occurred in the city, which have affected a number of traffic signals.

If you approach a traffic signal that is not working or on flash, please be sure to stop at the intersection and treat it as a four-way stop sign.
