Md. Paintballer Pleads Guilty To Cruelty To Ducks

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- A Capitol Heights man has pleaded guilty to animal cruelty for shooting paintballs at ducks in Hagerstown's City Park.

Court records show that Nathaniel Herring, 19, entered the plea Tuesday. He was given probation before judgment and credit for the 84 days in jail.

Prosecutors dropped a second animal cruelty charge and a trespassing charge under the plea deal.

Police say Herring fired paintballs early on the morning of July 30 at several ducks in the park.
