Jim Zorn Fired As Ravens Quarterbacks Coach

OWINGS MILLS, Md. (AP) — The Baltimore Ravens have fired quarterbacks coach Jim Zorn, who spent one year on the job after being dismissed as head coach of the Washington Redskins.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh says offensive coordinator Cam Cameron will work closer with quarterback Joe Flacco next season.

Harbaugh says “we believe this will help improve our offense.”

The move was announced Thursday. Harbaugh also announced that offensive assistant Craig Ver Steeg will assist with Baltimore’s Quarterbacks.

Zorn came to the Ravens before the 2010 season.

Also on Thursday, the Ravens announced that Teryl Austin, former defensive coordinator at Florida, will take over as Baltimore’s secondary coach.

Ravens have become as bad as all the other franchises. Why did they hire Zorn if he was not a good fit to begin with? I question the foresight the Ravens from office really has. Wonder boy Biscoitti will one day wonder what happened to this franchise when Ozzie goes back to Alabama as A.D.

They need to rid of cam cameron hes the problem they said we won 12 games this year so what our off didnt our def did…our off stats were pathetic.

All offensive coaches should have been fired. Had Peyton Manning, Tom Brady or a hand full of other quartebacks had the weapons Joe Flacco have, they definately would be going to the superbowl. They need to stop being so predictable. Running on first and second down then throwing on third down. No crossing plays, very few screens…this offense needs a coordinator who want to smash opposing defenses and Cam Cameron is definately not that guy!!!!

I CRINGED when they hired Zorn! Anyone who watched any Redskin games while he was their failed coach cringed also. Yeah, I question Cam’s play calling sometimes, but without Joe having two people telling him two different things, it can only get better.

But change it up a little Cam! Stop playing it safe, laying on the ball with time left and go for the throat on offense. Because I’m sure we all agree that no lead is big enough any more.
