Bryant Rallies Past Mount St. Mary's (Md.) 62-60

SMITHFIELD, R.I. (AP) -- Alex Francis scored a career-high 25 points, hitting a leaning drive in the lane at the buzzer to give Bryant a 62-60 win over Mount St. Mary's (Md.) on Saturday.

The Bulldogs (7-15, 5-5 Northeast Conference), coming off two consecutive overtime losses, rallied from an 11-point deficit with 7:44 to go.

Cecil Greshman, who scored 21 points, hit a 3-pointer with 35 seconds left, giving Bryant a two-point lead. Raven Barber then tipped in his own miss with 17 seconds to go for 60-60.

Bryant inbounded the ball with no timeouts left and Francis hit his game-winner, giving the Bulldogs their first win over the Mountaineers in five tries dating back to the 1982-83 season.

Mount St. Mary's (7-16, 5-5), which saw its three-game winning streak snapped, led 36-24 at halftime and by as many as 13 in the second half.

Julian Norfleet scored 13 points to lead the Mountaineers.
