Howard Defeats Maryland-Eastern Shore 77-73

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Kyle Riley scored 22 points and Howard ended a nine-game losing streak with a 77-73 win over Maryland-Eastern Shore on Saturday.

The Hawks erased a seven-point deficit in the final 2 minutes and tied the game 73-73 with 21 seconds remaining. The Bison got baskets by Anton Dickerson and Riley in the final 14 seconds to put the game away. Riley made 8 of 13 shots from the field.

The 77 points were the most for the Bison since they scored 82 points in a win over Norfolk State on Jan. 18, 2010. The Bison (3-17, 1-7 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) made 25 of 50 shots (50 percent) from the field for its second-best shooting effort of the season.

Dadrian Collins added 18 points, Alphonso Leary had 14 and Mike Phillips 11 for the Bison.

Hillary Haley led the Hawks (4-16, 1-6) with 29 points and Mark Robertson added 17.
