Navy Defeats Colgate 81-78 In 2 Overtimes

HAMILTON, N.Y. (AP) -- Jordan Sugars scored 22 points and Greg Brown 20 as Navy edged Colgate 81-78 in double overtime Saturday.

Sugars' three-point play 22 seconds into the second overtime put the Midshipmen (8-15, 3-4 Patriot League) ahead to stay. They led 75-68 with 2:16 remaining, but the Raiders (4-17, 2-5) cut it to one, 79-78, after Mitch Rolls hit a 3-pointer with 7 seconds left.

Sugars made two free throws for the final margin.

Colgate scored the game's first nine points, but the half ended tied 32-32. Navy led by nine early in the second half and the lead changed hands eight times before regulation ended tied 62-62.

Colgate led 68-64 in the first overtime before Navy tied it.

Neither team scored in the final 1:52 of the first extra period.

Nick Pascale had 18 points, Rolls 15 points and Sterling Melville 14 points for Colgate.
