Lt. Gov. To Sign Compact For Student Veterans

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown is launching an initiative designed to help students who are veterans.

Brown will gather with officials from community colleges and universities across the state on Monday to sign the Maryland Campus Compact for Student Veterans.

William Kirwan, chancellor of the University System of Maryland, and Sandra Kurtinitis, President of the Community College of Baltimore County, are scheduled to attend.

The compact aims to help veterans who return to a Maryland school by creating greater awareness about the unique challenges student veterans face.
