Prince George's Officer Hits Ice, Slams Into Pole

CLINTON, Md. (AP) -- Prince George's County police say an officer has been injured after losing control of his car on a patch of ice and crashing into a telephone pole.

Police spokeswoman Cpl. Erica Johnson says the officer was traveling on Steed Road near Piscataway Road in the Clinton area about 11 p.m. Wednesday when the accident happened. Johnson says the officer was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
