Georgia State Holds Off Struggling Towson 63-60

TOWSON, Md. (AP) -- James Vincent and Brandon McGee each scored 12 points to help Georgia State keep Towson winless in Colonial Athletic Association play in a 63-60 victory on Saturday.

The Panthers (10-13, 5-8) took a 39-26 lead on a jumper by Javonte Maynor with 19:41 left in the second half. But Georgia State had trouble pulling away from Towson, as the Tigers trimmmed the margin to one on three occasions.

Josh Micheaux made two free throws to give the Panthers a 61-58 lead with 25 seconds left. Towson's Josh Brown scored on a layup to cut the deficit to 61-60 before Marques Johnson's layup pushed Georgia State's lead back to three points with 5 seconds to play.

Brown, who led Towson with 18 points, tried to tie the game on 3-pointer, but it missed. The loss sent the Tigers (4-19, 0-13) to their 12th straight defeat.

Vincent also blocked five shots for Georgia State.
