High School Students To Get Laptops
HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- Maryland's senators have announced a $30,000 grant to Hancock High School's Laptop Initiative.
Sens. Barbara Mikulski and Benjamin Cardin said Thursday that the grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission also means 36 teachers at the Washington County school will get laptops.
The initiative intends to teach students advanced technology skills. It also seeks to increase computer and Internet
accessibility among low-income and rural students.
