Milkshake Performs A Valentine's Spectacular

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- They're one of Baltimore's most popular bands and they have a special concert scheduled for this Sunday.

Ron Matz reports it's "Milkshake's Valentine Spectacular" and it's all for a good cause.

Milkshake will spread their love on Sunday with a Valentine's spectacular at Rams Head Live!

"It's not just a concert. Doors will open an hour ahead of time. We have a big movie screen to show cartoons and Milkshake videos. Our mascot 'Moo' will be giving out chocolate kisses. Cupid will walk around.  It's going to be lots of fun. The IcedGems cupcake truck will be parked outside," said Lisa Mathews, Milkshake.

Sunday's concert is a benefit for "Autism Speaks."

"Most importantly, part of the proceeds will go to 'Autism Speaks.' It's a wonderful organization. They fund biomedical research into the causes of autism. They try to raise public awareness of autism. It's one of our favorite charities," said Mathews. "We have a lot of kids that come who are autistic, some have Down's syndrome. It doesn't matter. Kids just love music no matter where they are coming from."

"The relationship between our music and those kids seems to be a special one. We noticed it from our first concert. Those kids related to it in a way that was really unique and it made us feel great. So anytime we can work with them, it's a blast," said Mike Gehl, Milkshake. "We feel great about the kids. We are lucky to live in Baltimore and to be able to make a living playing music. So anytime we can share our good fortune it makes us feel good."

Doors open at Rams Head Live! Sunday at 1 p.m. for Milkshake's Valentine Spectacular. For more information, click here.
