Motion To Remove Death Penalty Denied
ELKTON, Md. (AP) -- A Cecil County Circuit judge has denied a motion by a man accused of killing an 11-year-old girl to remove the option of a death sentence.
The denial was made Thursday on the motion by lawyers for Thomas J. Leggs Jr.
Leggs, 31, is charged with murder and other offenses in the kidnapping and slaying of Sarah Foxwell. Her burned remains were found Christmas Day 2009 in Wicomico County. His trial has been moved to Cecil County.
