Baltimore Police Investigate Double Stabbing At Gas Station

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Baltimore police are investigating a double stabbing inside a gas station along Liberty Heights in Northwest Baltimore.

Derek Valcourt explains detectives are trying to piece together what happened as they search for the suspect.

At the intersection of Gwynn Oak and Liberty Heights, there's a crime scene at a BP Gas Station.  The blood-soaked concrete is an indication of the violent confrontation that happened just before 10:45 a.m. Monday.  That's when police say two men were attacked by a third man.

"We believe there was some sort of argument inside of the gas station between the two victims and the suspect.  That's when the suspect pulled out an edged weapon and the victims were stabbed," said Baltimore City Police Detective Jeremy Silbert.

Both victims were rushed to area hospitals, one of them with potentially life-threatening injuries.  Police began questioning witnesses and collecting evidence.  They say they are checking into whether crime cameras or surveillance cameras may have recorded the scuffle.  So far, there are no arrests in the case.

"I come down here every day to get cigarettes or whatever and I'm an older guy with a cane.  Anything could happen," said area resident Maverick J. Smith.  "I realize what's happening around here but the community has got to get back together."

Police say their only description of the suspect is a black male with long dreadlocks.  He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.

Anyone with information is urged to call Baltimore City Police.
