Memorial To Be Held For Domestic Violence Victims

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- The Maryland Network Against Domestic Violence is holding its 23rd annual memorial service.

The event scheduled for Monday night in Annapolis will remember 38 people who died as a result of domestic violence in Maryland between July 2009 and June 2010. The group includes 18 women, 18 men and two children.

The memorial service is held to increase awareness of domestic violence. It also aims to draw attention to changing laws to reduce domestic violence, improve victim safety and provide greater abuser accountability.
