Boston U. Routs UMBC 85-53

BOSTON (AP) -- John Holland scored 24 points and Darryl Partin added 23 as Boston University routed Maryland-Baltimore County 85-53 on Tuesday night.

The Terriers (15-13, 10-4 America East Conference) never trailed and took command of the game during a 13-0 run midway through the first half. Chris De La Rosa made a jumper to pull the Retrievers (5-22, 4-10) to within 14-11 with 13:42 to play in the half.

D.J. Irving ignited the spurt with a 3-pointer and by the time Partin ended it on a jumper with 9:20 to go, the Terriers led 27-11.

Boston University controlled the boards, outrebounding the Retrievers 44-29 to earn 11 additional shots from the field. With the Terriers hitting 50 percent (33 of 66), it was more than enough to keep Maryland-Baltimore County, which shot 36.4 percent (20 of 55), from coming back.

De La Rosa led the Retrievers with 11 points.
