Frederick Film Office Aims To Lure Movies

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- The newly established Frederick Film Office is looking to bring a bit of Tinseltown to Maryland's second-largest city.

The Frederick Arts Council said Tuesday the office aims to attract film, television and multimedia productions to Frederick and Frederick County.

Director Carl Glorioso says his office will match production companies with local people, organizations and businesses who have something to offer the film industry.

Maryland Film Office Director Jack Gerbes says Baltimore is the only other jurisdiction in the state with a dedicated film office. He says county tourism and economic development directors often serve that function elsewhere.
