Prince George's Co. Marks 20th Homicide This Year
LAUREL, Md. (AP) -- Prince George's County police say a man has been shot to death outside an elementary school in Laurel, marking the county's 20th homicide this year.
Police spokesman Cpl. Clinton Copeland says officers were called to the Deerfield Run Elementary School and Community Center about 6:15 p.m. Thursday for reported gunfire. He says police arrived to find a person suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim's name has not been released.
Police are still investigating.
