EPA Grant Program To Benefit Potomac Highlands
CHARLESTON, W. Va. (AP) -- The Environmental Protection Agency is making $1.8 million available for projects benefiting the Potomac Highlands.
The federal agency announced Tuesday that American Rivers will design and implement the program, which is designed to benefit communities and rivers in the four-state region.
The highlands is a plateau area the covers parts of Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia.
EPA says 10 grants worth $150,000 to $300,000 each will be awarded.
Grants will be awarded based on plans to protect, improve or restore the highlands' ecosystem.
