Maryland-Eastern Shore Beats Delaware State 60-50

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (AP) -- Tyler Hines had 11 points and 12 rebounds and Maryland-Eastern Shore defeated Delaware State 60-50 on Thursday night in the season finale for both teams.

The Hawks (8-21, 5-11 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) outscored Delaware State 34-26 in the second half, improving to 7-5 at home. It was the first time Maryland-Eastern Shore finished above .500 at home since 2000-2001.

The Hawks were 15 of 27 from the field in the second half, and finished with 17 assists, compared to 10 turnovers. The Hornets (9-20, 5-11) turned it over 16 times and had 11 assists.

Hillary Haley, one of nine players who scored for the Hawks, also finished with 11 points. Kevin White added eight assists as the Hawks shot 44.3 percent from the field for the game (27 of 61).

Casey Walker had 11 points and Marques Oliver 10 rebounds for Delaware State, which lost its seventh straight.
