UMES Tops Florida A&M 87-85 In 2OT

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) -- Kevin White scored 22 points and Hillary Haley added 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead Maryland-Eastern Shore over Florida A&M 87-85 on Tuesday night in the first round of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference tournament. 

Haley nailed a 3-pointer with 17 seconds left in the first overtime to pull the Hawks (9-21) even at 74 and send the game into a second OT. Haley's layup with 1:06 to go put UMES ahead 82-77 as the Hawks shot 7 of 9 from the free-throw line in the second OT to seal the win. 

Lyvann Obame Obame added 12 points and Tyler Hines 11 for the Hawks, who outscored FAMU 38-26 in the paint. 

Avery Moore, who scored 21 points, sent the game into overtime on a layup with 12 seconds left in regulation. Larry Jackson added 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Rattlers (12-20). 

UMES will face No. 2 Hampton (21-8) on Wednesday night in the quarterfinals.
